Quake logo mouse pad2/26/2024 Essentially, they were combinations of lower base sensitivity + higher accel or higher base sensitivity + lower accel. I used calculations to create around 4 "profiles" that produced similar sensitivities when moving at relatively low/moderate speeds. That is, I wanted my basic movement around the map to feel similar to my non-accel setting. The way I first configured my mouse accel settings was by paying attention to general movement first. Still, you will need some adjustment period and experimentation. There are also many threads on esreality, reddit, etc. There are many resources about the specific calculations, and you could start out by visiting Lorfa's guide here: (just do a seach for cl_mouseaccel). Like many people will say, it really is about preference and finding the perfect balance for you. The thing about using mouse accel is that it's just a totally different mentality of mousing. I want to configure mouse acceleration in arena shooters so I can still have the sensitivity I'm used to, but have it set up so that I can do 180s consistently. How do I make it so pretty much if I do a fast swipe, I do a 180 with accel versus the 90 that I do with no accel? I do fast swipes in counter strike during two times someone pops around the corner and it's extreme CQB, or when I turn corners or attempt to 180 (two quick swipes, I need a new mouse too because the sensei raw I have fails). How do those who are successful configure m_accel? It's not exactly intuitive. I want to get into arena shooters but it looks so fast that I'd have an even more ripped arm after a game or two with crazy shoulder fatigue. Clearly it's in the game for a reason and some benefit more than others. The other option is using mouse acceleration. Currently, when I go from one end to the other of my pad, I turn 90-95 degrees effectively, if I double my mousemat side one side to the other would be a 180.īut then again, I asked myself about human limitation of arms (imagine trying to swipe from one end to the other of a desk covering mousepad, you'd be awkward) and was curious about maybe matching a mousepad to the length of my arms or something, if there's some sort of science about that. I need to get a larger mousepad (I currently use an SS QCK standard). I use a low sensitivity in games (400 CPI, 1.3 sensitivity in l4d2, still experimenting with fine tuning by the 100ths). I don't have any hours played personally anything that shows is from a friend playing on my account.
